At Road & Civil we have a fine collection of Tarmac & Asphalt laying tools for the professional paving contractor. Manufactured to cope with the daily demands and rugged conditions inherent in tarmac paving.
So what is a Tarmac Rake? Unlike a basic garden or landscape rake, the professional tarmac rake has a longer handle and a wider head. Traditional Tarmac rakes have round teeth (properly tines) with sharp points, allowing them to penetrate and move easily through the material. Our Tarmac rakes have a solid steel neck that allows them to be bent to the perfect angle for the operative’s height & reach. The R&C tarmac rake is stocked and available in both steel and wooden handled versions.
The Asphalt Rake is similar in many ways to the Tarmac Rake, but traditionally the Asphalt Rake has square teeth (or tines). These square tines are useful in controlling the distribution of hot asphalt, prior to compaction, without sinking into the surface. The Professional Asphalt Rake has a solid steel neck allowing the rake to be customized to suit the height & reach of the operator. Road & Civil Professional Asphalt Rakes are stocked in Wooden, Steel and Insulated (Fiberglass) handled versions and are all of rugged construction to provide exceptional performance and value for money.
The tarmac tool range is not complete without our choice of Lutes, Spazzles and Squeegees. The tarmac lute is the ideal tool for preparing hot asphalt and tarmac prior to rolling. Used to remove high and low spots and to prepare around edges and other objects that cannot be achieved with a paving machine. The basic wooden lute is a cheap, lightweight but versatile tool, or consider the more rugged steel reinforced spazzle when heavier use is envisioned. The aluminum tarmac spazzle has a working head manufactured from quality cast aluminum to provide a lightweight but robust professional quality tool. The rubber squeegee is the ideal tool for quickly maneuvering viscous liquids such as Leotak used in the preparation of surfaces for tarmacking or for the spreading of pavement sealing products.
